The Basics to Create SIP Trunk

Creating a SIP trunk group for the phones, which will connect through the CloudLink gateway, configure or validate the following settings:

Call Configuration: Set to the SIP Call Settings in the CloudLink gateway. This is the one responsible in connecting with the SIP trunk service.

IP Address: Set the IP address of the phone that is connected with the VoIP Trunk system. It is necessary to create the IP address before setting the port of the phone. This is essential for both the SIP trunking as well as the gateway itself.

SIP Server IP Address: This is the server which is used in authenticating the clients to connect with the SIP trunk. The SIP server must be configured before creating the SIP trunks. This is one of the most important steps as it is used by the SIP servers in sending out the SIP requests from the clients. This also contains the SIP header, which is used in the request of the SIP trunk.

SIP Client’s IP Address: This is the IP address of the phone that is being configured with the SIP trunking service. This is important as it is used in sending the SIP request to the SIP servers. It is necessary to set this IP address to be the same as that of the SIP server so that the server can send the response to the client.

SIP Gateway Address: This is the IP address of the gateway through which the calls will be coming from the SIP servers. It is also important to set this IP to the same as that of the SIP servers as it allows the clients to connect with the SIP trunks through the gateway. When the Gateway is set to use the same IP as that of the client, the SIP servers are allowed to forward the SIP requests to it. In other words, the requests will be sent to the phone instead of the server.

It is also necessary to make sure that the SIP trunk gateway is enabled with the security features of the SIP protocol. This security feature is necessary for protecting the calls made from outside. the network. Some security features such as Authentication, Certificate Authority, SSL and IPsec are used to allow the calls from the outside.

It is necessary to configure the SIP trunking so that the call can be handled efficiently. The most important thing that must be done is to configure the Trunk Service Provider(TSP) on the VoIP system so that the calls will be routed through the SIP trunking service in a smooth manner.

The SIP Trunk Gateway must also be configured to accept the SIP requests to the TSP. Once this is done, the SIP request will be sent to the TSP. The SIP requests are then handled by the TSP server. Once the request has been sent to the TSP server, the TSP will respond to the request by providing the SIP trunk to the calling device which will allow the user to talk to the other users of the SIP trunked.

The TSP must also be configured to be able to accept the requests from other users and then forward it to the SIP server for forwarding them to the SIP trunk. For this purpose, it is necessary to configure the SIP trunking service. which is a service provided by different service providers. Once the SIP service provider is configured properly, the SIP trunking service is configured and setup so that it can handle the requests efficiently. Once the SIP trunking service is set up, the requests will be routed to the TSP servers that will handle the SIP trunk.

Then, the SIP requests will be received by the user who will then be able to talk to the other users of the trunk through the SIP trunks. The SIP server will then forward the requests to the appropriate SIP trunk which will be forwarded to the corresponding SIP servers.

To create a SIP trunk, one has to configure a SIP server which can handle the requests and routes them appropriately. Once the requests have been received, the SIP server will be able to send the SIP requests to the TSP through the SIP trunk so that the TSP will send back the SIP trunk call to the user.
